Phil Ivey reportedly denied $11.7 million payout from London casino

By now, you would think casinos are used to paying Phil Ivey. The eight-time World Series of Poker champion has made millions of dollars throughout his gambling career, but at the moment he could be more than $10 million short.
According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Ivey recently won $11.7 million playing a game called Punto Blanco at Crockfords, an upscale casino in London. The game involves no skill and is simply won and lost by the cards the dealer hands out, and Crockfords is reportedly witholding the money Ivey won on the game after he went on a massive heater.
Ivey apparently requested that the money be deposited into his bank account, but Crockfords has only returned his original bankroll of $1.6 million. The Daily Mail reported that Phil initially lost $800,000 when he began playing the game, but then he and a female companion went on a two-night hot streak. The lady with whom he was gambling reportedly had her membership revoked by another casino previously.
Investigators have flown to London to speak with employees from Crockfords and review surveillance cameras. Ivey and his lady friend reportedly never touched the cards, and the situation is said to have turned into an “increasingly tense stand off” with lawyers from both sides working to sort through it.
Could Ivey and his friend have worked together to win $11.7 million at a game of chance? Unfortunately, I know nothing about Punto Blanco or cheating a casino and I only understand crazy bets like this one and this one, so I can’t say. On one hand you can see why the casino would be suspicious. On the other you have to wonder how Ivey would have pulled off such a job.

They are stealing his money. He won it. Let him have it.

For these same reasons, is probably why Americans of African origins should vote against Question 7 on the Ballot in Maryland. They want to steal back the little bit of money we have acquired.

Exposing this scandal can also affect the possible outcomes for Question 7 on the Maryland ballot.

Some many other industries have to post information about their products so that the consumer can make informed decisions and choices. It is like this for the food, tobacco, alcohol, and even the clothing industry. Unfortunately, the Gaming Industry does not want these types of disclosures to be made on the Video Slots machines. These machines are controlled by command centers which allow the Casinos full control to change and reconfigure the chances of winning at ANY moment. They can do this while a gambler is at the machine currently gambling. Once they determine that too many people are winning at a machine they can increase the odds of winning making it easier to steal the money back from the winner.

Many casinos have ads like 'Gamble Responsibly', however the Gambler cannot gamble responsibly if they are unaware that their chances of winning is constantly being manipulated and reconfigured. Certain configurations and reconfigurations should be displayed on each Video Slot Machine. Without it, the Casino Industry may be breaking the law. The industry is supposed to enforce fair play, however this is very unfair.

I am contacting several executives asking them to inform the Gamblers of this problem. It is really not about being against or for gambling. These casinos should have to pay the National Debt with all the money they are stealing from their victims.

Many of the companies that make these machines have this information publically posted.

This station is very effective in reaching the American population with African origins. I do not want us to be continued to be robbed. If the casinos update their slot machines to include the odds of winning (just like you see on lottery tickets), than casinos coming to Prince Georges County could be beneficial even to the people in the local communities that will be subjected to more gambling. If not, it will rob Prince Georges County resident’s blind. PG County should be protected like some Native American reservations. It had the highest amount of African American home owners per capita in the United States. This is a huge achievement for African Americans. Unfortunately, this county was also devastated by the corrupt real estate practices that currently exists extending from 2003 and even sooner. These problems have still not been fixed.

The Casino Executives and the politicians for Question 7, state the money will go to public education. This lie needs to be exposed. How much money have the casinos donated to public schools? Las Vegas, Nevada is the 9th worst school district in the United States. It has a graduation rate of less than 30%. If the Casinos are giving to education in Las Vegas, Nevada it is not helping.
