Brotha, can you spare some change?
    Cause I’m in dire need,
and I feel that if I don’t get some soon,
    I doubt I’ll ever succeed.
See this change means more to me than I doubt you’ll ever know,
cause without this change I’m asking you for,
it would be hard for me to grow.

So can I get that change?
It doesn’t have to be much cause every little bit counts,
and I ain’t talking bout the kind that jingles or folds,
I’m talking bout the pity **** we need to denounce.
    Change the way we think,
    change the way we sync,
we even need to change the way we greet.
Cause I’m tired of getting ice grilled when I walk my block,
this hatred for your fellow man is something that has got to stop.
We can’t love each other until we love ourselves,
and we need to get to the library and snatch these books of the shelves.
Because knowledge of self requires knowledge itself
and a lack of knowledge is why every message isn’t felt.

So again I ask, can I please have some change?
I’m not usually one to beg but I believe in the cause,
but revolution is far fetched, when our soldiers are on pause.
A little change can change history,
it’s a mystery to me that more aren’t involved in reversing our misery.
Reversing the plight of oppressed people,
and making sure everyone in this world is created equal.
WE NEED A CIVIL RIGHT’S MOVEMENT SEQUEL!
Where are the black panthers of 2004?
When are we going to stand up and kick down the door?
We are in a position that our fallen leaders would have killed to have,
they opened the wound, but we’re only picking at the scab.
It’s time to finish the job and thrust that sword,
fight for what’s right and receive our reward.
So please join me and let’s relieve the world’s pain,
cause all I’m asking is for just a little change.

I look (like a bag woman) for change everyday...24/7 ...for it's our only hope for surival. And when the hunger hits us hard, we all will be on the hunt for "change"
thanks for the brilliant write up ...I got sparks from it.
