    GAVEL CAME SLAMMING DOWN
THE ALARM CLOCK OF A YOUNG MANS LIFE
    JUDGE GAVE THE SENTENCE
    WITH HIS FIST HANDCUFFED
    BEHIND HIS SCARED BODY
HE CANNOT AND WILL NOT FIGHT
HE FELL VICTIM TO MOVING THAT WHITE
THE SAME THING HIS DADDY HUSTLED
    TROUBLE IS
    ALL THAT IS LEFT
PAIN IS THE ONLY THING FELT
    ALONE HE MISPLACES HIS GUILT
    ALL HE REMEBERS
    IS TRACES
    FROM MOMMAS BROKEN CRACK PIPE
AND THE WORLD JUST REFUSE TO UNDERSTAND
    HIS STRUGGLE
    HIS LIFE
    HIS HUSTLE
    HE NEEDS NO APOLOGIES
    AND HIS FRIENDS ARENT PRESENT
JUST THE DESOLATE SOUND OF SATANS VOICE
    SINGING
    FOOOOOOLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWW ME

    HIS LIFE WAS THE STATEMENT
    IN FIFTEEN MINUTES
HIS LIFE WAS CHANGED THEN REARRANGED
    HES STANDING WITH AN UMBRELLA
THAT JUST WILL NOT STOP THE RAIN
    THE CALL HIM JUSTICE
    JUSTICE HE KNOWNS NONE
    HIS LIFE STANDS STILL
    AWAITING THE VERDICT
GUILTY SCREAMED LOUD ACROSS THE COURT ROOM
    EVEN CONGRESS HEARD IT
SO NOW HE HAS NO SECOND CHANCE TO DANCE
HE NOW BELONGS TO THE STATE
COULDNT FIGHT FOR HIS LIFE TODAY
FROM THE STREETS TO THE CAGE
FROM THE CAGE TO THE PAGE
    HE HAS BECOME
    AMERICAS HEADLINE
    AND HE JUST
    CANT UNRAVEL THE TRUTH
    THE SENTENCE
    BECAME A STATEMENT
THAT STATEMEN SOON BECAME A PARAGRAPGH
EVEN THE MOST HIGH CANT UN DO

Becoming just anoher digit in a never ending array of dead end numbers. Where's the justice in that? How will this cycle end? Thought provoking piece, poet.

This reminds me of a poetic, well written version of the song "100 Years" by Plies. I have heard that gavel far too often and become distant pen pals of the victim that was senteced to justice. Great write poet!
