Broken Home

Dedicated to my lost love… Ashley Ward

I watch as the sun rises,
I watch as the sun sets,
my mind plagued by your eyes,
the most beautiful eyes I've ever met.
~
I watch as the days slowly past,
as my life slowly sets.
I look back on my life
and all that I regret.
My Love, my Pain:
my Anger, my Shame.
All these things not eased,
but by time grieved.
~
I analyze my actions;
I hear my words,
remembering my mistakes
my life downward spirals,
My heart aches.
So I mourn.
~
For my Love is gone...
and Her words no longer...
Her laugh no longer...
Her voice I no longer hear...
~
Brought back to present pain
I mourn,
knowing her love I shall never see,
as the fault lies within me.
~
I watch as the wind blows,
I watch as our child grows.
Every idle moment renewing pain,
as my thoughts lay on our love.
~
As our love's beginning haunts me,
I realize Her love’s gone
and I'm without a home,
among reminiscings of her silken skin,
Of her startling eyes,
Of her passionate kisses,
I watch us die.
~
So as I watch the petals fall,
and as I watch the seasons change,
my life contains one hope,
along with one joy-
my dream: my desire,
the return of ecstasy
with my love's return.
