Walking this night, I saw you
I could hardly recognize your face
But your eyes were still the same......cold
    And filled with pain
I tried to go along with your facade of serenity
But I couldn’t, your torment was so naked
    You wore your scars
And I could see the creases in a young man’s face
That shouldn’t be there for ages
    I wanted to hold you
And not say things like, “everything will be okay...”
    But just listen
    As you cried
You know the woman that I am, and that I would like nothing more
    But to kill your pain
“Time heals all wounds”..........so false, I know
    Time only conceals them
It is with our own strongest efforts that truly heal
What we’ve allowed others to inflict
So I gave you a smile that you used to love so much
    And continued on my path

”Depend on no man, on no friend, but him who can depend on himself. He only who acts conscientiously towards himself will act so towards others, and vice versa." -Lavater

This was a beautiful and vivid outpouring of the heart through words. It leaves one with a lingering feeling of sadness and melancholy. Feeling the emotion.

You know why I love this? It's because it shows you're a sensitive person who really sees people. Me too! Flow on

What we would love to do for a friend in pain is to erase it, but usually that is beyond what we can do. I could feel the sadness in this well written piece.

    wonderful
there is a time for words
    of encouragement
and as I read your poem
    it was the deep emotional
    exchange of a smile
    giving freely
    wonderful poem
    very heartfelt warm

    Peace
