Actually, men stopped getting married when the liberation movement started being defined as, 'She gets to tell you how to spend the money you earned'. But, you had no say in what she earned. Moreover, single none committed sex became easier to get

Ha ha, sure enough that's the lament I chuckle at the few "Beat down" married men in my family whine about. I also find it amusing when the few "All about themselves" married women in my family tell me that if they're not happy then nobody's gonna be happy. And of course being the loyal nephew, cousin and uncle I always am after I obligingly laugh with them I remind them that's exactly why I tend to "Always" be happy. There's a gaggle of men and women in the fam that's way too cool. Just not enough of them to suit me. That's why caller ID and door cameras were invented.

Aha...but it's okay for a man to tell a woman how to spend money she earns cause from my memory, there were no Black "Ozzie & Harriets" in my neighborhood, Black women had to work to help sustain a family. And as for sex in marriage, if a woman isn't in the mood, the some husbands cop an attitude, sometimes making him feel justified in stepping outside the marriage to scratch his itch. Non-committed sex, as you call it, has always been around--some men got it for "free" and some he paid for it. Either way you look at it, what value does that add to a community that can only grow positively when people come together in healthy ways? In my opinion, this point of view is a copout to cover up some men's insecurities. Black men should be on the forefront of the liberation of their women and see the benefits they and the Black family reaps when Black women take advantage of greater opportunities available to them, instead of them feeling castrated. And what does it say about the man who just wants to dip his stick in anybody's oil tank? High divorce rates and greater numbers of single mothers? Again, you blame Black women for Mookie. Black men must see the role they play in his creation and participation in our communities.

Maybe not then NNQ But we moved on up now. Well at least Sherman Hemsley and the late Isabel Sanford moved on up. Great show, I always considered "The Jefferson's" to be the proper balance to "Good Times". Not the fake bougie "Cosby Farce".

Out with the old.

BTW: My favorite star was actually Zara Cully who's acting ability was not only impeccable but beyond comparison. My third and favorite guardian had an autograph from Zara when she starred in The Ebony Showcase Theater.

Like a fine aged aperitif.

RIP Zara.

1. I don't recall saying that anywhere in my post.

2. Men don't tend to nag.

3. You misinterpreted what I said. Guys don't get married today because there are too many females giving it up for free.

4. me accepting free none committed sex doesn't make me insecure

5. Mookie IS a females fault, pure and simple

6. I am beginning to think many don't want a man, because that would require them to be a woman
