an evil spiders web weaved between
mother and son
against husband and wife
you fall prey
to her poison
hidden behind a mask of religion
good intentions
other dimensions

do you not see
the worst fights of our life
come when her words
like ice
freeze our happiness
in zip lock bag
stagnation

you’re too busy feeding
your temper
your emotional outbursts
sap the strength from this queen
leave her drawn and used and fused
with confusion
making her soul a husk

you spend your time
living life in four cornered restriction
perfect diction
the diameter points of a perfect fade
military brigade
you march in place and wear out the carpet

i move around you
secretly living my life, my dreams
committed to you
yet committed to myself
my own happiness
which you always monitored or stopped
with your words
but my life
my dreams continue
and when they bloom outside of your peripheral vision
you now try to stop it

Two things I pick up from this piece 1. the involvement of a third person and secondly how directly or indirectly this third involvement has somehow led to the downfall-hence some form of domestic violence in the relationship...two is company-three is a crowd in a marriage-this from a person who doesn't even have a boyfriend???? ha, seriously though, my family gone through some stuff like that...two should stick together...momma's boy needs to grow up and insecure woman needs to get secure..!

lo'..
