Agreed. It absolutely amazed me to see how (ultra) sound could create an actual three dimensional picture of a child in womb.
Not the typical "oh yeah, I kind of see him" 2D photo. I mean it is as clear as a picture by my cell phone.
I'm a car audio enthusiast, and it seems like in 2006 we would have more concrete and clinically substantiated conceptions (laws?) of how sound behaves.
The "science" seems to be far more theoretical than it should at this stage. David Clark, Richard Clark, Dan Wiggins, Manville Smith (JL Audio) all make plenty of sense, but even they contradict one another at times. And the difference is rarely resolved, bc they speak off of experience and prior theory.
When we cease to look at matter as physical, and begin to realize that ALL is energy, then it puts a pretty interesting twist on how feats as such are possible.
It also makes sense as to why sound is so rarely understood.
It's not unlike our original perception of atoms and the more recent accepted view of so-called Platonic Solids. Then the rise of String Theory over Special Relativity and Quantum Mechanics. Then how there is always a smaller "particle." Electrons are broken down to biaps, zeles, quarks...etc.
It becomes quite evident that literally anything is possible.
The question more people should be entertaining is how.
Amazing story on that Brother though. Really touching. I followed the people.com link but found nothing more on him.
