I know that Crispus Attucks
died for it and they made a
movie of us dying for it /and we still
don't have any GLORY and blak people
still want to die for it and cry for it
and I ask why?
I see our advances that so many died
for had to take chances for and so
many mothers were left sonless for /
yet we still behind / and we built the
land it's pole is planted in / and I can't
help but to think some have been duped
again and have been bent over and
done again by mass CONfusion
so many have been conned into thinking that
we have been fully fused into this
American dream / symbolized by
OLD GLORY the red, the white, and the blue
which symbolizes freedom...the
freedom to be suppressed, oppressed,
without redress as a people...Sure Oprah has made it,
and Michael has made it, and Bill has made it,
and Robert Johnson has made it (even ithough he's selling
it)...while Jesse has been killed and filled outlines
on the battlegrounds of the hood, and Arletha
has been tricked into thinking that her body
is everyone's temple for a fee and it confuses me when
I see blak folks smiling and grinning waving a
**** flag...and I know that we are accountable for
our own actions...and if that's the case why are
blak folks waving that **** flag?
History reminds us that we built this CONtry and
get no credit and it will stay that way if
we let it / current trends tell us that race ism
still tells us that because of our melanin
the symbol ISM of the flag relegates us to
last place status and our fast twitch muscle count
tells me that we're genetically the fastest
yet we first in line to wave that **** flag /
So I wring the flag out to drink the blues
to give fuel to my soul when I sing
my blues cause it soothes me and keeps me
focused on this symbolic hocus pocus of the
rag called old glory that is waved by so many blak folks/
whose wavering hypnotizes too many blak folk
as if they're snakes chilling in a basket / while I
look in the casket of another brother whose is
adorned in bullets by the boys in blue who are supported
by the red, the white, and the blue /
and I stand amazed at how we again, as we always do,
accept the pain of our oppressors as if it's ours/
"yes boss, we's sick today" and wave that flag in
full patriotISM caught up in this
mental capitalism and they still get more blak dollars
than blak businesses do/cause too many of us
pay more attention too the tattered edges of
that **** flag...than the frayed edges of our
bendera that was caused by that **** flag and
what it symbolizes/ and I'm tired of this terrorists
****...lets's go convict who killed Diallo and the many
brothers and sisters like him...let's go find the
terrorists that wreak terror on our blak
psyche...you'll find 'em handing you blak folks
flags to wave, along with crack sacks and guns
for fun to wreak terror on one another..............
brother, put that **** flag down.

(c)2001 blakverb "off da top thinkin"

Yes this is one of the best countries to live in relatively speaking, but ya'll know this thing we live in here is jacked up. I wonder if all those black folks waving those flags were as spirited in protest when our "CONtry tis' of thee" refused to attend the Durban international conference on RACISM. Hmmm...I guess they are model citizens.

Blak ... you know, not everyone is brave enough to stand up and say these things ... thinking we may be further persecuted, for being so selfish during this time, as to think of ourselves and our own plight in this country ... thinking the right and proper thing to do, as an American, is to support our government and all that they do ... trusting that what they're doing is in our best interest ... in spite of what history has shown us ... we hope ... maybe this time ... after this war ... after more of our sons and daughters die displaying their patriotism for this country ... maybe then they will consider all of our contributions ... and favor us as the 'chosen minority' ... maybe ... one day ... if we'd just be quiet and wave our flag ...

Very Nice Work
