    BLACKS SAYING NO TO ENLISTING

Iraq War Causing Major Drop in African American Military Service.

Figures releases by the nation's military services and data compiled by the Associated Press point to a dramatic drop in the number of African Americans enlisting in the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines.

The principal reason appears to be Black opposition to the Bush administration's war in Iraq.

Aljahiz ... did you see this post of mine, to you ?

I don't know if you're ignoring my request, or just didn't see it.

I said that warning, would be your last, yet i'm doing it again.

You cannot make negative, sweeping, ugly generalizations about Black People on this site.

Okay ... this is gonna be your last warning ... for real this time.

Personally, If I thought the country I lived in was in danger of being terrorized, I wouldn't hesitate to fight even though the treatment here for my people is digusting. I say this because my family is here, and if someone else is seeking to come in and do them even more harm than I could possibly imagine, the enemy of my enemy is my friend.

However, this is not the case in Iraq. The motive is control over resources and the hostile takeover of another mans house. Why would I help a country do what it has and still is doing to me. Why would I risk my life for a country that doesn't repect me equally as a citizen.

I'll tell you this, if we think we are being treated unfairly now, our non-participation in their greedy war is going to come back for us. You can believe plans are already in motion. It may be what we need to get us to take all the injustices done to us more seriously. It may already be to late for us in this country.
