I love food, but I have noticed a lot of folks that I know who have food allergies happen to be black...come to think of it, I can't think of any non-black who has food allergies...

My grandmother is allergic to: nuts, shellfish and chocolate
    Aunt: nuts, shellfish
    Cousin: nuts, shellfish, chocolate
    Myself: dairy

Also, this little boy in pre-school is has soy-protein allergies and he can't eat hardly anything the other kids in class eat.

It appears that on the one hand, we, as blacks, are blessed to be able to generate the IgE antibody, but on the other hand, this same blessing can trigger allergies, very interesting:

The antigen-specific IgE interacts with mast cells and eosinophils to protect the host against the invading parasite. However, the same antibody-cell combination is also responsible for typical allergy or immediate hypersensitivity reactions such as hay fever , asthma , hives and anaphylaxis.
