I'll rub continuously from my face this down trodden race,
changing the appearance that distinguishes a white man's and a black man's face.
I'll change my identity, my humorous personality that laughs after trials, grateful for the vitality of the harsh, struggling wraths.
Get thee behind of me satan, yet it is thee on my face, darkness and rage...
Rubbing and rubbing to be separated from this that defines the African American Race.
