Tired of carrying tears of sorrow
    Tired of wandering about tommorrow

Tired of waking up late at night
    Tired of singing about how
    You never did me right

Tired of this same ole song
    I've reached the last straw

No more of this I will bare

    My Heart cries out

Like the thunder that has been wept
    Of Black Women Everywhere

    Intimate space
    Intimate time

    Wish someone would sympathesize
    With my side

    Black Women Everywhere
    Determined
    Intelligent
    Moving inspite of the silence

    The unbarrable moments
    We're still strong
    Capable
And humble at the same time

    We carry with us memories,scars,love,endurance
    And quiet as it's kept

    Patience...

I want to give a round of applause to those women
    Who keep carrying on

    Despite contradiction
And things may not always be right at home

    Women
    Everywhere
    Keep your head up

Don't take less than what you need
    Always aim high

Careful to make the right choices
Even if he wears you down

    Tolerance
    Shouldn't be an issue

Let them come and get you

I'm paying tribute to my mother, grandmother, and greatgrandmother

    Who have already been there

    I look up to you
    And I am proud

For the responsibility as a woman a mother or daughter
    Is a noble thing

We need to look at our reflection
    And like what we see...

In two words this work is.....VERY MOVING.

I can tell you spent time with this poem and journeyed each line before you showed us it's path. Desert Storm, you've stirred a storm in my desert as I read this piece...thank you so very much for sharing.
