Several states that are controlled by republicans have been aggressive in passing laws, and trying to get laws passed that will make it hard for blacks to vote. Those that support these laws claim that it is needed to prevent voter fraud. But looking at this article, and the actions of the republicans they are the ones guilty of voter fraud.

This is nothing new, it wasn't that long ago that the Voting Rights Act passed (1965) which did away with voter suppression, or so we thought. Here it is today, they have pulled out some of their old tricks. To be honest, they knew right where to hit us.

    Peace!

it's 2012 blacks don't have to worry about not being able to vote because it's their right, right?

everything is ok, white people have changed since the 1960's. they even listen to rap music and eat soul food now. those republicans wouldn't dare do anything as illegal as trying to deprive blacks of their right to vote knowing that blacks are citizens ad well as part of the fabric of america. no' they wouldn't dare do anything as unjust as that! :grouphug:

A "right" that is revocable for any cause or reason by some legislature is in fact a privilege.

Of course my brutha... don't you know we fought tooth and nail and begged the white man to let us fight and die in the civil war with them... And we fought on both sides.

Of course whity love us,they had to after we did their dirty work of driving the Indians off their lands so that whity could claim it.....

And they would not go through all of that trouble giving us this right after that nasty little poll tax they installed was abolished. And I just luv that "grandfather clause" they came up with....That gave us hope...If it allowed illiterate whites to vote, surely we would be able to also.

I think black trouble makers are reading too much into this. Just because it is effecting predominately black areas means nothing. They just haven't made it to the white areas of the nation that's all.

Like you said...it is our right!!!!....And they would not dare be so bold and so open with this.

    Peace!

So what is their reasoning for doing this? Other than the obvious.

    Peace!

    My opinion:

Subjugation. Fear of losing power. Attempt to maintain hierarchy. Regulation.

get ready to present black issues to the President for solving in his second term, preferably, through groups. Let's do like the other interest groups rather than fighting the man.

    Peace In,

Brutha Clyde...they seem to be getting desperate. I mean what else can it be? They aren't even trying to hide it. It's funny, no matter what they say and do,Obama seems to still be winning, and they just hate that.

    Desperate times,desperate measures.

    Peace!
