Two months ago I bought a bird,
and said I'd teach it all my words...
When I said hi, he said hi.
When I said fly, he said fly...
and very soon it was plain to see,
that the parrot was just a mirror of me.
That night I dreamed an awesome dream,
that made me see the light,
where most blacks act like parrots,
when the books they read are white.
I tossed and turned inside my dream
    to truely understand...
    if making us their parrots
was a part of their laid plans.
    I struggled for my freedom,
    and soon I was enraged...
for like the parrot I had bought,
I found that we were caged.
Then suddenly my bird looked out,
    and saw another bird...
now my parrot's speaking bird talk
in a language no one's heard.
Now I tell my parrot be,
and my parrot calls out FREE...
when I tell my parrot see,
my little parrot calls out ME...
free me, free me, free me,,, free me.

Yes, making us caged birds was probably part of the plan...I like the way you make a point.
