    In the Spirit of Sankofa!

Looking back, the movement went well. Those brothers and sisters had a job to do, and they all performed at high capacity. The flow of the Last Poets running throughout the clip, was also part of the cultural awareness, that accompanied the struggle against racism.

The movement was clearly defined, and most of the participants became politicians and writers, etc...What is absolutely frightening, however, is that the struggle continues, duly and often noted by brother Prizmm. But today, the movement is not as clearly defined as it was during the period of the 60's and 70's. We are now more culturally aware than ever before. We write more now than ever before. We are more politically astute than ever before.

But, we are more divided now than ever before. So, Destee is correct. This dot com refuge, this haven is for the purpose of the collective, and when it(the collective) decides to focus on any issue affecting our people, through finally loving one another, and come together as one (a movement), then the resources we have at our disposal, will become that light, and that beacon in the continuation of the struggle of Black People; thus fulfilling her vision. It is time to get started, if our children will look back, as this clip has allowed us, and see our confusion/chaos, rather than the inspiration absorbed by Jazzytude and PurpleMoons.

In the Spirit of Sankofa and Humility!

    Zulile,

For you to render such gratuity, it must be on point, and I really appreciate that! It is a firm belief I have, that this refuge is here for a significant reason, and when we join forces with Destee, it will happen. Again, thank you so very much, we share mutual feelings.

:confused:Haaay, whats wrong with being inspired?

when seeing/living the "confusion" inspiration can be the catapult which brings about the action for change. We've been looking at the confusion for quite a while now. The question is, what are we going to do about it and when are we going to do it?

    PurpleMoons,

Wait a minute, no, no, no Purple, absolutely nothing is wrong with inspiration. Here is what was missed; one day our children will look back at us, as we are looking back at the 60's era. You and Jazzytude are inspired, as we all are, by what we see in the clip. Will our kids be inspired by what we leave them to look back and see? I don’t think so! They will see what you so properly call, confusion. PurpleMoons, you have asked the right question, and I addressed that question in the other part of the post. Are we still Friends, sweetheart?

The way i see it, the youths are very much aware of the chaos and confusion. The problem is they don't know how to distribute the energies to do something about it. Instead, many go out and vent those confusions in ways that are more detrimental to their well being; causing even more chaos.

This clip that Brother Oldsoul has provided, i believe, shows our youths how to constructively vent and focus those energies in the right direction. I feel inspiration is the second key towards action, with the idea being the first. The hardest and most trying part is the dedication to follow it through. So being inspired tells me, we, or they are at our second step.
