The water is rising and I am trapped, trapped, trapped
In my mind cause it is rewind and replay and reinvent
    My future beyond this moment

    My mind is considering
    My body is defiant
The water is rising and we are trapped, trapped, trapped

My thoughts are not factual beyond this moment
No one is coming to get me
No one is coming to get me as I rise to the ceiling

Did you catch sight of my message … above the house
Did you see my signal … Did you see my signal
Did you hear me screaming and dreaming up new ways to live

As the waters are rising and we are trapped in the black
The black of our existence and the chapter continues
Of how to walk on the side of the world of never free

Calling out unto the ancestors of what did see we
And the bodies dead beside and near us
Where there is no bury them in this no time

There is no bury them time
Now days without water and food
    Standing with limp babies
    Dogs on branches in trees

Wondering if you coming to get me
Nowhere to hurry nowhere to hide from view
And they gonna shoot us if we steal to eat

They gonna shoot us if we steal to barter
They gonna shoot us if they see us
The water way too high to walk in
And we been here the whole time

Them in the stadium in the black
Did you see them look like me and you
Them in the stadium with no way out
Them outside with no way in
    There are predators among us
Needing main lining and open sex to express rigid numbness

Someone yelled … another one dead
Someone yelled … another child raped
Someone yelled … another one stabbed

    We keep straight faces
    For nothing adds up
    And we past hungry

We do not want to drink if others wont
They taking us places not acquainted with
No memories to unfold into truth

Wondering if a future will ever be
Now families divided across the country
7 days later people still surviving

Soldiers further take away dignity … someone is coming
Police abandoned their sanity … someone is coming
Fireman joined the suicide ranks … someone is coming

    Tell them not to panic
    Tell them we coming
    Tell them not to riot
    Tell them help is coming

Report back … …WE NOT REFUGEES

Because white victims and others present
They say that this was not a race story of poverty
The war on poverty without a trace now a war on race

    A forecasted storm becomes a neglect-rescue-genocide
A Bush woman said that this is a blessing to better their history
Their horrific voyage gonna be better now see
Like auction block reverberations minors now majors of their moment
Can there ever be a time when black make black free

THAT WAS SO POWERFUL I MEAN JUST USING THE WORD POWERFUL ISN'T EVEN ENOUGH TO DESCRIBE. I MEAN JUST LIKE NEVAR SAID THE VISUAL YOU GET FROM THAT ITS LIKE YOU PAINTED WITH WORDS. DEEPLY MOVED STILL STANDING CAN'T WAIT TO READ MORE.
