may l approach your throne, queen??
take your mental eyes through the unheard and unseen
and soar them through the finite range of magazine,
movie and media which so defies your essence??
l want to say thank you.
thank you, mother, for all the care l needed to see was prepared
for me in breakfast, lunch and dinner...
thank you, sister, for l am eyewitness to a single mom, full time student with career and still the winner
l... saw the black woman's eternity in a confined, one-room apartment
l saw her dominant beauty on the cover of Heaven
and all her pages were written on stones and soft sand...yes, pain and joy
but the world has not heeded and my people only
speak of black on black violence

may l approach your throne, king?
this time, it wont be prison stats or aids reports l bring...
read this scroll of beginnings, afterwards wear your signet ring
for l want to thank you, father, for in the home you taught me to be a man..
but out here they say you were other than..
l saw... the red in your eyes after a hard day's work
both oppression and freedom bled in your eyes as you sought to educate me..
    on God, love and family
but black on black silence is bound to damage me
for they didn't speak about the knowledge you handed me but instead,
they told me l would be dead or in jail
statistically making babies or getting crazy high
in hopes that l would dis my black woman and make her cry
but l got my third degree, not from burgulary but from college
and more of the young princes lead or follow me...
but they keep bringing you this other knowledge for you to hear
and all l hear is violence
    but the silence is louder

    Very Nice.
We do have to come up off the black silence. Silient to the daily trump of success. Those within and outside of our circle of trustees. Trust it's self is becoming harder to bear, give or muster. But the silience as you spoke of is killing us more.

" Speak. Tupac said we are all Black Cotton, the symbol for unrewarded struggle. Rewards we never recieved. " The silence has become a code, unwise code of the community. Like a mad vigilante gang of crazed folks we need to rise up on the nonsense and declare a peace or no peace until we get some. Declaring war on the vampires in our own community first and then on society.

Taking it to the so called independant courts. Ha.. ha.. I laugh about that.

The courts are no more independant than the police and courts that sentence us into poverty and struggle for change with the laws of a society that doesn't believe in socialism, but in some form of social containment. We will no longer be contained!

America must take responsibility for its shameful past.

There is nothing holding them back from taking responsibility for that if
they ( society ) sincerely wishs to do so.

We can doing nothing but distrust those in positions of high authority. We should doubt the authenticity, depth, and stability of a system that makes no attempt to connect with the race that built this great nation. They must lift us out of the mundane and allow us to connect without interference or aid us in making that connection with values that are larger than life.

    Break the silience. :skillet:

This silence, spoke volumes, the silence that does occur among us, but that some would love to erase from the mainstream's eyes, lest they discover that we are indeed worthy. This piece was beyond awesome, poet. Bravo.
