Black People : Black News Analyst Fired for Muslim Remark

In the Spirit of Sankofa and Peace and Love!

Exactly!
NPR's been waiting to get rid of that fool, but this finally did it for them.
And Why blame them?
They're a liberal media, they don't want someone who's going out of his way to curry favor to conservatives (especially white ones).
How would that look on thier part?

Welcome to Destee.com abstraktmind...you've highlighted the point in my view, Juan was getting paid from both sides, the left and the right, a pure conflict of interest.

NPR fires news analyst after remarks about Muslims
By BRETT ZONGKER, AP

WASHINGTON — NPR has fired longtime news analyst Juan Williams, also a commentator on the Fox News Channel, after he told Bill O'Reilly that he gets nervous when he sees people in Muslim garb on an airplane.

In a statement late Wednesday, National Public Radio said it was terminating Williams' contract as a senior news analyst over his comments on Fox's "The O'Reilly Factor."

NPR executives had previously complained about his remarks on Fox, including saying first lady Michelle Obama could be a liability for her husband shortly after his inauguration.

The latest comments came Monday, when O'Reilly brought on guests to discuss his own appearance last week on ABC's "The View," during which Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg walked off the set to protest his views on Muslims.

"Where am I going wrong here, Juan?" O'Reilly asked.

Williams, 56, responded that too much political correctness can get in the way of reality.....

Chuck:

White media news mainstays say stupid things and just get asked to offer an apology without being fired...

This one black media news mainstay tells the truth and gets fired?

More than just an obvious double standard!

"Michelle Obama, you know, she's got this Stokely Carmichael in a designer dress thing going. ... her instinct is to start with this blame America, you know, I'm the victim," Williams said, according to an account by NPR's Ombudsman Alicia Shepard. Carmichael was a civil rights activist.''

''Everyday for the thief, one day for the owner''

Chuck:

So much for his right of free speech!

Duh...

Sigh...

:10500:

Honestly, I say it serves him right.
He's spends all his time trying to suck up to Bill O'Reilly(saying whatever he feels O'Reilly wants to hear) and those fools at Fox and this time that Uncle Tom *** mouth of his got him into trouble.
He sounded about as stupid as Bill did on "The View" when he said "Muslims killed us on 9/11".
Instead of just targeting the extremists that did it, he went and generalized an entire religion of people.
Juan's airplane analogy is an open and shut case of xenophobia, and it generalizes and blames an entire religion for something only a few people(who clearly weren't committing any religious acts) did.

Chuck:

You fail to peep the message and diss the messenger, i. e., there's been no candid and honest discussion/debate/etc., as to what led to those 9/11/01 attacks and/or the nation's response to them...

Hmmm...

Could it have anything to do with the toppling of a pro Western Shah, the Arab Oil Embargo, both the flip flopping of a U. S. ally who helped defeat the Soviet Army in a particular Arab nation and/or break the back of the Soviet economy, which led to the fall of that particular 'evil empire', and/or another ally who was (mis)led to believe a former diplomat turned U. S. president would do nothing as his armed forces retook what was originally part of his nation, etc. etc. etc.?

Uh...

As another brother--who you did and do give a 'free pass'--would say?

'Come on, people', be for real about it all!

NPR has their own problems, ask anyone who is Black and works for WBAI,
and find out why General Manager Tony Riddle and Bernard White, a man who was there in the times of Samori Marksman and Gary Null,
and a man who made sure some African-centered and Pan-African material was presented on the air on a regular basis,

were fired for no reason by Pacifica!!!

NPR is more then likely doing some house cleaning and setting up pawns like this negro,
before folks look at their administration.

And more then likley some conservative think tank will take care of him lovely, just as Armstrong Williams was more then likley given another 1/4 million

LIke many national unions, situations at National Public Radio stations,
vary widely from area to area, in regards to sincerity and integrity
