Did Pharaoh’s Daughter gave Moses a Hebrew name?

The Myth: And the child grew, and she brought him (Moses) unto pharaoh’s daughter, and he became her son. And she called his name Moses: and she said, because I drew him out of the water (Exodus 2:10).

The reality: The name Moses actually comes from the Egyptian word msy meaning is born, which is usually appended to the name of a god, as in Thutmose or Ramose that is Thoth is born. The Greeks transliterated the msy element as mosis and in English it became Moses. Since the names of other gods, deities were taboo among the Hebrews, the front part of Moses name was dropped, leaving only the msy element. Sigmund Freud wrote: “The father of Moses without doubt prefixed to his son's name with that of an Egyptian god like Amon or Ptah, and this divine name was gradually lost in current usage, till the boy was (Abbreviated) called 'Mose”.

The front part of Moses name was either Ra-Moses or Hor-Moses.

All Egyptians who were initiated into the mysteries schools and were called Muse/Mose/Moses. Their chief priests were called Eove/Eova=Jehovah. The story of Moses not being circumcised is to dissociate him from Osiris in which we find Moses original Egyptian name of Osarseph.

Further more Moses also prefaced his name with a god acceptable to the Egyptian king Akhenaton. That would have been either Re or Horus, since Re-herakhte, “Re the horizon Horus”, was the god whom Akhenaton worshiped. There was, for example, an important official in Akhenaton’s regime known as Ramose. Moses, therefore, may have been actually known as either Ramose or Hormose p.188 The Bible Myth Gary Greenberg. “the birth of Moses and his being secreted in the rushes has been likened to the fate of Horus”-Egypt, Canaan and Israel by Redford p.410.The story about Moses being found in an ark was patterned after an Egyptian myth about the birth of Horus (The only legitimate ruler of Egypt) in order to give Moses a valid claim to the throne of Egypt and to challenge the newly installed ruler.

A. Moses spoke Egyptian. We resolve this conflict by harmonizing contradictions. The Old Testament says Moses was slow of speech and needed the assistance of Aaron. The New Testament says Moses was mighty in words in deeds hardly consistent with slow of speech.

B. Moses was kicked out of priesthood of Egypt at On for leprosy. Moses wore a veil not because his face was burnt up by God. Ordinances states lepers should put a covering upon their upper lip (Lev 13:45) that reminds me of Moses veil. In the 3rd century BC an Egyptian priest named Manetho (meaning truth of Thoth) wrote that Moses was dismissed from the priesthood because he had leprosy. If this is true it would explain why the Hebrew’s invented the story of Moses hand turning into leprosy and Moses wearing a veil over his face to explain it away. What are some of the effects of Leprosy?

Pliny the elder wrote in his Natural history from book 16 that “Leprosy was endemic in Egypt” and that leprosy first appeared on a persons face, particularly the nose.

C. Moses was a priest of the Egyptians and had to be circumcised. The Bible’s story of him not being circumcised ( Exodus 4:24-26) was inserted to explain away his links with the Egyptian god Osiris. Jesus said “Moses gave unto you circumcision (John 7:22) and plus Jesus was circumcised on the 8th day (Luke 2:21).
