As if black men do not sleep with many women at a time...as if black men don't have STDs...as if black men don't leave black women to be single mothers.

I would like to hear and see a brother come in here and acknowledge that this isn't a one way street...instead of pointing the finger at black women as if we hold 100% responsibility.

It's not a one way street and NO black MEN are not exempt and NO sisters are not the problem.

We should not delve into a gender war but recognize each individual is responsible for their own actions.

If black MEN grew up to be MEN and accepted responsibility rather than blaming others this would not be a matter of discussion.

    Peace!

Of course, men and women take equal responsibility.

Though I don't neglect the cultural context.

    I agree with brotha O.

However, this is what we get when in someone else's social/cultural incubator.

For instance, lets look at movies/tv stars: Men like george clooney known for among other things, dating (boning) mass women and get, for the lack of a better term, 'props' for that. The media/press give that lifestyle a level of social acceptance for men that it would not give women who do the same thing, without being called a...

In short, it has been made socially 'unacceptible' for women to 'live' like that. Certainly a double-standard!

Who controls the social construct in which created this arrangement?

This maybe be slightly of topic (though in the ballpark), I'm surprised that older women who date younger men, would allow themselves to be called "cougars", but when men date younger women, they, we, are simply men.

But I agree with what you stated...

I wonder if this goes back to polygamy...
