Occupation
My occupation is whatever I do that requires focus
This here is just how many of us feel at times. It may seem negative or as if I am searching for acceptance from those who oppress me, but I assure y'all that I am proud of the blackness bestowed upon me by H.I.M.
However.....In younger years, before maturing into the man that I am....I had these types of conversations with myself......Hope y'all enjoy :)

A fresh game of tug-o-war
…….Tumultuous souls… each
Vying to gain control of my soul
The wayward lamb……
alone….. in the hostile wilderness
of the land he calls home
……..The never ending dilemma of a Black Man

Which shall I be today?
…..The one whom changes the way he speaks
trying not to offend
those who pretend to tolerate
despite my differences……
instead of accepting on the basis
of what makes me unique?

Regardless of how hard
it is to be me….eternally
I’m doomed to carrying the drum
While dancing to someone
else’s beat

Inside my soul
Dwells a wayward lamb….
Who is the Sheppard…should I
Lead or follow?
…….The never ending dilemma of a Black Man
