They say the Black Man has faile his Family

    Have They?

    Bruthaz

    why do you walk away
    from your struggles
    leaving another
    to carry your load

    why are fatherless kids
    running our streets
    WEAK
    coz the foundation for
    MANHOOD
    doesn't run too deep

    Bruthaz

    why do you neglect
    your offsprings
    as well as your
    QUEEN
    when daylight comes
    women
    daughters
    and sons
    left alone
    with no one
    to lift up their day
    ...to chase the hard times
    away

are there bruthaz failing their families?

    YES

    what did you say?

    YES.

    then we've failed our family.
    NO
    ...not the YOU and ME
but the PLENTY in this society
    who be dropping babies like
    rain drops
    then run away
    like they can't stop
to smell the fruits of their labor

    are you healthy, son

    are you able
    to nine-2-five
    for at least a
    four-a-week day
    to give an hour
    everyday to play with
    your keep{sake}
    and make
    a heart smile
    from the love of you

can you do that, my brutha
    are you man enuff
    are you?

They say the Black Man has failed his Family

    Have you?

    not all...

...i think that the "sagas" have an order to them...
    do they?

    my two cents again...

not all men fall into this category
    {what!! the women yell!}
    you asked if they
could hold a nine to five
    for a week...

    ok-ok...
    some who drop them (babies)
work nine to five...and then some
    for years...and years
    yet...
    never want the responsibility
    of the "seed" they planted...
gets angry when the "gardner" (mom)
    starts having his check garnished...
(he) reeks all kinds of havoc...
all 'cause baby does need a
    new pair of shoes...diapers...formula
    clothes...food...

    sometimes one wonders
    if a brutha really wants
    a family...
    maybe he never really had
    one...

    understanding~

(let that kid become famous...that's another story!)

YES...there is an order to this madness.

i had my first kid at nineteen. because i was in school--when i didn't have much to give--my family--siblings, moms, etc--stood up for me...'til i was able. i was always available...knew i had to play DADDY coz, in the end, your kids are the only ones who will be there for you {WHEN YOU NEED IT}.

    OFCOURSE, she did...

and so did i. actually, she became pregnant after we broke up...did a kiss-n-say-goodbye thing locked up in a hotel over a four day weekend. two months later, she told me that she was pregnant. THERE IS NO BLAME...and, no, we weren't married as she had hoped. nonetheless, i was DADDY...and daddy had to step up. the question of abortion came up, but i talked her out of it. my son is a part of me...a part of me that i wasn't willing to give up. TODAY, my son is the father of the most beautiful little girl you've ever seen. I'M PROUD OF EVERYDAY OF HIS TWENTY-FIVE YEARS...and the man he's become.

    THANKS FOR RESPONDING.
