They say the Black Man has failed his family

    HAVE THEY?

they say they asked the people
    and the people said yes

    IS THAT SO?

    as a Black Man
    in this repressive society
    in which i stand
    i resent the implication
    that i'm not being a
    MAN

    PEOPLE...and their generalities...

    if you ask...
    "baller...
    have YOU failed your
    FAMILY?"

The answer is a resounding: NO.

    if you ask...
    "Are there MEN
    out there
    Black, White, Brown, etc
    ...who have failed their family?"

    The answer is: YES.

    why US?

    why does the
    MEDIA of NEGATIVITY
    always focus its spotlight on
    ME?

    have you seen
    EQUALITY
    in this hell hole
    surrounding
    ME.

    seven hundred and twenty-four
    OPINIONS
    decided that
The Black Man is failing his family

    are you hearing this?

    seven hundred and twenty-four
    OPINIONS
    told this nation
    what they wanted to hear.

trying to cast a shadow over ME.

    i ain't having it, G.

    a cycle...

    unbroken...

my two cents {this, my disclaimer?}...

so, the black man fails the family...
    in disarray...
    the black woman comes under
    attack...
    failing her sons...
    perhaps her daughters
    "matriach magna"...
    the black family crumbles
from the domino affect created by...
    the lack of "manhood"...
    woman's increased masculinity...

    the deafness and blindness
of a people...a culture that says...
    "it takes a village..."
    (yet) who wants the "village experience"? {i can do an essay on this}

and the media...we know about the media
and we live with the negative reporting of
    our people...
    because it is too hard...
    or too much like right
    to correct the incorrect...
    so...ultimately
    "who cares?"

    myth or factual?~

(define black family, black manhood...black womanhood...)

    MYTH or FACTUAL...

    ACTUAL(LY)
    we see
    what we see
    in different hues
different clues for what is right
    as we relate
    to how we were raised
    and the haze surrounding wrong
    let it be known
when you TEACH a child to be a man
    ...helping him to understand
what being a man is all about
    we have to be serious
    about this business of teaching
    'coz what we convey {to them}
    is what they will portray {to the world}

THANKS FOR FEELING THE SAGA OF
    the BLACK MAN FAILING.

    So'ja...

there are PLENTY MEN out there, handling their business. I KNOW YOU BE ONE OF THEM. THANKS for the props.

Kemetstry...very deep sentiments. VERY TRUE as well. the question is, how do we rectify this injustice we've heaped upon our young.

    THANKS FOR RESPONDING.

    kemetstry...

you sound a little BITTER in your response...ARE YOU REALLY SAYING THAT WE SHOULD BLAME WOMEN FOR OUR BEHAVIOR? i, too, know women who chose to BIRTH a child, alone...who wanted a child but didn't want the hassles of a relationship...who are too caught up in their career to want the distraction of a MAN hanging around...everyday. THAT WAS THEIR CHOICE AND THEY'RE NOT COMPLAINING BECAUSE THE MAN ISN'T THEIR. the ones who's complaining are the ones who fell into their situation with the help of US...and then were deserted by US. it's not a question of how we were raised but how we raised up to be.

dnommo...THANKS for feeling me, my brutha. i'm not saying the whole of the article is reflective of society...i'm saying that we have to consider WHY people are saying that we're failing our families. and, realistically speaking, we see it everyday. THE TRUTH IS A HARD PILL TO SWALLOW AT TIMES.

    One.

    ummm

I've read this twice and all comments that followed. We could talk about this until the cows come home. Kem had very interesting views as well. I don't think he was sounding bitter just wanting us to open our eyes. I'mma read the next portion you have prepared.
