They say the Black Man has failed his Family

    WE ARE EXPECTED TO FAIL

    is that your excuse...to fail

    society is against you
so you lose your will to live
    survival skillz
    take a vacation break
    {as the sun rakes slowly across the rest of your day}

    is that it...

    we carried this nation
from sun up to sun down
    shackled...
    guns and whips {white masters}
    all around

    we didn't fail

    we didn't fail MLK
    or Malcolm X

    when slavery passed by
    and jim crow came next
    are you telling me
that we can't take care of us

WHO ARE YOU TO TELL ME
    I'M FAILING MY FAMILY
WHEN MY WOMAN DON'T UNDERSTAND ME
AND ALL OF SOCIETY IS AGAINST ME

    is that another excuse?

They say the Black Man is failing his Family

    I see you.

    there are more...

excuses that weasel their way through his teeth...
    slide off his tongue...
and emerge as "hot air" that rises
never being received by any ears but
    his own...

    my two cents, again...

    what are the excuses...?
why are there excuses...for doing what you are suppose to do...?
    what you know is right...?
hmmm...both Jesus and God wonder the same thing about humanity...?
does it boil down to..."i just don't want to do it!"

i think that it would be easier to know if a black man does not want to be committed to his wife, kids...family
do not persecute (hell, torture) a woman and her unborn with
the lack or being "a black man" (and all that it entails)...

a sista says: "excuse...yourself, my brutha...
we can be friends, no problem...
    i understand that you don't feel this...committment...children
    the black family thang...
    and that is cool...
'cause i prefer to love you
    than hate you..."

    in my observation...
some, not all, black men become
    numb to their responsibilities...
does this run through his mind? cause it is seen in action:
"i think i'll steal from my kids...
    buy me a luxury car...
get me some gold and diamonds
    so i can...bling-bling...
buy me a big screen tv
    have all the latest things
    in my new manly pad...
get me another gal...to fulfill my needs
**** some braces, clothes and tuition
    for my kids...
i am gonna live it up...get my life back
hell, life is to short and i want, no need
    to be happy!"

    so be it...
    as the excuse(s) give birth
    to broken dreams...
    drowned hope
    darkened lives...

i am confident that a people...
    our people
    (our men)
    will right the wrongs
    rescue hope...
    fix dreams
    and shine light
    on lives...black men, women...children
    ...are we not great people...??

    i know this show~

    (we can't die like this!)

    Kemetstry...

there is more than enuff BLAME in the world...but is BLAME all that we're about? isn't it time for us to STAND UP and face the problem head on...to teach those who don't know, what they should do...to set an example for others to follow without pointing fingers.

    i am a non-failing BLACK MAN.
    what about you?

BY THE WAY, although the opinion pole was conducted by BET/CBS, those poled were BLACK. fifty-six percent of those BLACK PEOPLE poled, felt that the BLACK MAN was failing his family. is that a stigma we wanna live with?

they saw any person trying to make a movement they were shot down

but i would like to reference my other response to your piece in this series

these minds are conditioned with no family structure to keep them from the bad stuff

    So'ja...

the "NO FAMILY STRUCTURE" part is the basis for this piece. does that indicate a failing on the part of the BLACK MAN...the lack of family structure.

YES, it's true--for many reasons--that we've gotten away from the FAMILY...as we knew it, back in the day. IS THAT GOOD OR BAD? CAN WE MAKE IT BETTER? OR, DO WE GIVE UP and allow our kids to grow up...not knowing DADDY?

WE, as men, need to STAND UP.
we need to recognize that our kids NEED us...and we need to be there for them.

    One.
