"I am black and I am proud."

It’s a cry I heard as a child…it was a cry that may me proud
Black is beautiful I would chant with pride. Now I could identify
I was more then just another colored child. I am someone special
I am black and beautiful. I am black and I am proud.

I laughed when other though that Black was just a color.
They could not see what I have seen that Black is a culture.
They tried to explain to me the shade of my skin, I would have gotten angry, but I seen their ignorance.

It took many years to read all I could fine.
The true story of my people.
    It Contradict the western lies.
And fuel the will for me to learn more about me.
And now I have the Internet.
My eyes are open even wider.
I web across the continent and made friends
In many nation. I made friends in many States.

Black is not a color. Black is a culture. There is no true book on it and no words that can define it. You feel it in your Soul, in the way you walk, in the way you sing, in the way {YOU} do your thing. You got to have Soul to know it. And your Pride will show it.
I am black and beautiful. I am black and I am proud.
    Peace

    Say it loud!
    You are so right, Bluewater
    Black is a culture.
Like it was born out of
    the destruction of a culture
    uprooted and transplanted
    Your words remind me
    how true it is that
    each one of us today
    represent a triumph of existance.
    Peace and love to ya

Black is a culture not just a color...
an excellent scribe as our Sister Bluewater
    is always capable...

I think all of us at some time during our growth in life
have sensed the truth and were compelled to find it and
dispell the lies that we were taught...there was a reflection
of many "bluewaters" as you, in this piece.
