Is it possible to survive falling into a black hole?

Eight-year-old Dane Rogan Showalter, a science enthusiast, posed this question to "Cosmos" host Neil deGrasse Tyson during a recent segment on HuffPost Live. And Tyson didn't feel a need to dumb down his explanation.

"The way you won't survive is if you go straight to the center. Then you're like, completely ripped apart, so that would be, like, really bloody," Tyson told HuffPost Live's Josh Zepps in the interview on Monday.

he recently did a TV series called 'cosmos'.

he referenced the greeks, the romans. he referenced the europeans. the asians.
he not one time referenced any Africans as making any contribution to science.
according to tyson all thinking in history has been done by white people.

he used his TV platform to promote white supremacy.

i figure with friends like him we don't need enemies.
i had to post a nasty note on his website.

Imagination is a wonderful thing for young and old to have.

Kid will have a great and vivid imagination

Interesting though, Neil didn't say "I don't know" or "I'm not sure" in response to the kid's question:

Kid: "On your show Cosmos you said that if you go into a black hole and survive, which you wont be able to, you will find yourself in another dimension... is that true?"

Tyson: "Yea, in fact there may be a way to fall into a black hole where you would sort of survive your path through..."

Granted he "dumbed it down" for the kid, but he responds "yea, in fact"

Just interesting to see the contrast of the video with the kid and this above video relating to the comment of the follow:

"It's better to admit our ignorance, than to believe answers that might be wrong"

Tyson is claiming to the kid that he has "fact" that the kid could survive passing through a "black hole", and says "Yea" to the notion of going to another dimension (which would go deeper into a quantum physics discussion for another time).

"It's better to light one candle than to curse the darkness."

Thank you for expressing your displeasure. But then, you've always had the social conscience, the activist spirit that causes you bring light to the darkness.
