Chains keep yanking us down... low
Yet the links keep pulling us up...high
Chainlinks binding us as we spiral down to hell
Chainlinks connecting us as we ascend to glory in the sky
Packed in like sardines in a can aboard that slaveship
Collars connected to leashes connected to collars
Fast forward... impoverished living on top of one another in the projects
Reality traded for crack screwed into addicts traded for dollars
Dolla bill don't help none when the well to do Black gets pulled over
Lightest of light to darkest of dark don't matter if the profile fits
My vote didn't count no more than yours did, see the connection there?
And while we're counting, how come his poem got so many hits?
How come she can debate and discuss so convincingly in the open forum?
No real rhyme or reason for the brotha or sista to be under attack.
Is it easier to ask questions like that,
Than to give a brother or sister a pat on the back?
    Always gonna be connected, somehow
    Always gonna be Black
Guess our ancestors still wanna see
if the chains that came off their ankles
will continue to shackle our minds for an eternity....

    For ancestral spirits that
    survived;
    from being separated from wives,
    families, and
    introduced to lies that we
    were weak.
    Yet, who sustained the weeks
    of unwarranted beatings,
    meetings with introductions of
    "suh" and "ma'am", ****,
    we're still invisible.
And the only time we're seen
is from flashes of red and blue lights
    with sounds of sireens
    drowning the dreams
    of freedom from
    imagined states.
    We were never nurtured,
    just debased with fingers
    placed in our way
stating that we were the lazy ones.
So how come we have leaders
    who run high government offices,
off the backs of great leaders
    in coffins
    like:
King, Malcolm, Madame CJ Walker, and
    Mansa Musa!?!!??!
    Take this month
    back to the Motherland
as we create a band of hands
bound to the idea of freedom.
Freedom of colonialism, racism; economic independence,
    self-reliance, and alliance between
trapped Africans of the west and
Africans on the Motherland to the east.
Poets, make your words rise like yeast
as we give praise for fallen leaders
and wise ancestors whose help we will need in
    destroying the beast!!!

Let's get real for Black History Month!!!!

    DA POISON SHIP......................

Out deep when the ship sails
in the northern sea of hell
    under this captured slavery spell
i lay flat on the floor
for when the whip lash my back
    and shackles cling my feet
sold on the block for a cheap
    token
    ancestors hung mother's weep
    fathers beaten like a treat
til the rising sun great heros
come to bring us today our
    HISTORY
    like the great underground railroad
    the trail to freedom
how my sista made a stand
took a seat to ride free
the man of power to help free
proverity Dr. M.L.King wit a vision
a heart of dreams cross the way
    was Malcolm the great X
    what about sista Jane Pitmen
to the Panthers party our struggle
never been hardy but blistin beat
    on city and country streets
but we rise we rise to the system
    suprise with Leaders and wisdom
knowledge to speak and today we
as poet's get to write about our
    History

our month let's poeticly raise the roof poet's ....

KEEP IT COMING we RISE we SHINE it's our TYME to MARCH on !!!!!

in the shortest month of the year
i'm left wondering what if...and this causes me to jeer
at the blantant pontification of the arian nation...*shaking my head*
cause to me...there isn't enough days in the calander
to talk about black mathematicians like benjamin banneker
and what these individuals did for this country and for us
but we got no 40 acres and a mule...not one [email protected] thing....for us
cause to them...we be modern day coons and jigaboos...not worthy of trust
*trying real hard on this poem not to cuss*
not even paul roberson...who was one of the noblest men
but to amerikkka...he was a spook traitor...for speaking the truth to his kin
we could go back in time and name 10 x 10 x10...black american men and women
who fought for what's right...no matter what the repercussions
my question is...where are the now people
the now black leaders...who will make sure that this bs never happens again...
don't think of me as a hater...cause i want minds free now...not later
every night i ask the creator...why are blacks the villians like the dark side and darth vader?
and why don't we take time to help each other climb the financial elevator?
i have many past hero's so don't take this final statements as being to mannish
but blacks today aren't doing ish...and a hero aint nuthin but a sandwich...

    I'se don't care if massa hear me..............pt. 2

C i heard dem dare drums last night
da message was to go & "wade in da water"
but I'se refuse ta leave my child behind
& sincin' she waz asleep, I'se had to wait for my daughter
    funny ting izz
dem other slaves dere got caught
I 'se ova hear a house negroe name' Clarence Thomas talkin' ta massa
an he'se knew da hole plans on hows da slaves wazz headin' Norff
seez we had heard dat dem nigras up in da norff
had received 40 acres an a mule, leas dats what dat Ibraham Lincon say
sose on every plantation u will finds negroes plannin' escape
cuzz freedom caus a slave ta think dat way
ya know, I'se done heard so many stories 'boout freedom
I'se done fell in love with tha thought more than really wantin' ta be free
cuzz it seem ta me, dat da price for dat dere freedom dey talkin' 'bout
cos' so much it done made hous niggroes & fireld negroes enemy
I'se been a slave so long
I'se rememba when da house & field negroes would work tagether
when mass or dat **** overseer would beat one of da field niggras
da house niggra would slip some poison in massa cup causin' him ta feel unda da weather
if'n a house niggra women was taken advantage of by da massa
da fiel' niggras would plan a revolt like'ns my brotha Nat turner
"Now dat ***** was crazy", but he got his point across
caus he refused to let hizz freedom sit on the back burner
he had dem ******** runnin' for dey lives, ha ha ha ha
cracks me up just ta think a 'bout him, but believe u me
he wuzz & still is the blueprint on how & what ta do
if'ns u'se really want to be free
get da chills & my eyezzz swell all up
wit jus' at da mention of his name
So'se I'se be back directly hear, ta speak to da future from da pas'
I'mma sit in da dark fo a 'whil & I pray u do da same

& I'se don't care if massa hear me

    Nat Turner' Journal

Who 'dat taking away my freedom
Forbide me to read and write
    Raped women & children
    Cut manhood out of spite

Why it go down like that
    Just because I'm black
    Strung up to a tree
    Stripes upon my back

    How do you relate
    When "boy" addresses men
Get up, stand up, for your rights!

    Time to murder them...
