Nothing wrong with dress codes.
here in the DR all schools public and private have a uniform that must be worn. Each is somewhat different either in color or style with the name of the school either as a patch or printed on the shirt/blouse. All must be neat and clean.
Do not know for sure but believe this is also true in the USA for religious schools
