    Hello Family,

Is it just me, or does this term suggest more than the obvious?

I'm aware of red ink denoting a negative profit margin, where as "in the black" denotes a positive profit margin ... but even still ... it seems much more far-reaching than this??

    Much ado....

For many retailors, if not all, the period between Thanksgiving and xmas usually is the difference in whether or not they will remain in business. Most only receive their profit during this time. Recent scenes of mad dog shoppers trampling old ladies, children, karate chopping security to take cuts in line, bare no reflection on the original term.

    Peace and Blessings Family,

Here we are again ... years later ... and this term still makes me feel some kind of uneasy way.

Probably even moreso now, than in 2005.

Brother MetaSaience ... Family ... what do we see when looking through the metaphysical lens ... is there something more to this than the obvious?

How many of our people are up bright and early, spending money they do not have, for days they've yet been blessed to see?

Black Friday? I just don't get it.

We had to fight for MLK's birthday to be a holiday, but they give us this?

Is it just me Family ... have i grown too cynical?

Since I stopped looking at the word or color as negative, it lost all strength with me.
For me now, black friday is the last work day of the week, and a reason to celebrate.
Which is why I call Monday, "White Monday", the most ugliest day of the week for me.

    Just my couple pennies worth.

funny - White Monday is a national holiday in several EU countries  the name is now attributed to the white suits ppl wore during "baptism season" (pentecost)

But I like your definition too ;)
