I would go on, but I've got stuff to do. My point is, if you REALLY want to buy everything from black people, it is possible. Personally I have a ranking I go by that if I can't find it black owned, it will be brown owned, and so on. I will do WHATEVER IT TAKES to not give WalMart or Target or Nestle or any of those other exploiters money first, I don't see how others don't see it the same way.

You misunderstood me sista...what you did was perfect. Many thing such as the big stuff like washers, stoves, etc are only made by a hand full of manufactures. So you can buy it from a black, but you would be paying an extra markup because he is just going to get it from the direct supplier. Also, when it comes to certain things, I like to buy them in a store that I can take it back if something is wrong.

When I used to do import and export as a way to earn extra money, I ran across this valuable source of information.

Thomas Register Of American Manufacturers
http://www.thomasnet.com/
Description
Product and service suppliers in 52,000 categories. Good for finding company contact information and getting lists of suppliers for a particular product. Some companies have product catalogs with specs or CAD drawings.

This book has every manufacture from buttons to earth moving equipment. You can but direct from many of the companies in this book and cut out the middle man altogether. This is the secrete retailer know, that the average person doesn't know. You know those earrings you see for 100s of dollars, I use to have a catalog what sold those same one to you as a distributor for $35. So you can see how they can have stuff on sale at a greatly reduced price.

Store don't lose money when they have a sale, they just make you think you are getting a real good deal.

Peace!

Also, why is it that in all these states we have "Chinatown" "Little Mexico" "Little Saigon" "Japan Town" etc, and no one questions that all them spend money on and help each other, and no one questions that it benefits them, but if black people try to do the same, the idea is unthinkable and ludicrous with no benefits whatsoever, suddenly. Why is that?

Since I'm the only one that brought your post up, I assume you are addressing me. You don't have to dodge me, you can speak directly to me.

Now, with that said, I agree with what you've said. If it were true, I applauded what you did, and what those black business owners are trying to accomplish. You just misunderstood me which is a trait with most of us, we get offended to easily over what is perceived to be opposition. There is no; one right way to buy anything, the right way is what ever fits you best at the time. Somethings I buy online, but many things I buy out the store, especially if it's of an electrical nature.

And lets be honest, no one used the words unthinkable, or ludicrous, and if you read the context, you would see I'm not knocking your list.

But just incase you missed it..here it is.

Yes, the was nice of her. But did you examine this list? Where is the dealer for appliances, phones, computers, refrigerators and such? Are you getting my point? This list is good for the purpose of buying small things, but not everything which is what you are tying to suggest. You are also forgetting a few points, how online buying works. For example, you can place a order with Newegg, but they don't carry every product on their site. They send you order to the company that has that merchandise. Now what that means is that you pay at the same time, but your order won't always arrive all together.

Now please, show me where I said your efforts were unthinkable, or ludicrous?

Again, to be clear, I applaud you for compiling and supplying this list, I've already bookmarked many of the sites myself, and I thank you for sharing this with us.

Peace!

these you name link to the origin of their geographical location, we as of yet have not learned now to 'exclusively' link to Mother Africa for import/export commerce...alas, we own no ships nor planes -- no international intercourse with Nigerians, Ghanians, Senegenese...to name a few

LOLOL, I was actually referring to the OP, who I don't THINK was you, I thought it was a girl, but she was trying to imply with earlier posts that even if we DID make the effort not to give white people our money directly, they would still somehow end up with it all in the end because it makes no difference. I was only saying, if it makes no difference, why does everyone else do it here in the "melting pot" we call America. The only ones "melting" 100% of our money with everyone else, is Black people. Everyone else consolidates and supports each other, whether consciously or unconsciously.

I come off as over-bearing sometimes, it is one of those things I work on. Being specific with my sarcastic remarks, sharp views and political opinions that I air whenever I feel like typing is another thing I need to work on ;)

Black people were some of the FIRST people to own airplanes here in the USA, btw.

Beyond that, I understand what you are saying, but that is because there is NO demand. MOST black people are content to shop at WalMart instead of pay a little extra and wait a little more to support a black person. Therefore, black people don't get as many customers. Therefore they cannot expand. It is a cycle--the question is are we going to BREAK it and decide to NOT take the easier road every time? Building up black financial communities is going to take time, unfortunately, so we need to be willing to invest and sacrifice.

The changes we make today are probably NOT for US. They are for the future generations of black people. Our weakness for supporting slavery-endorsers and poverty-protectors IS going to effect the future, just as financially supporting Black Owned Business IS going to effect the future.
