    WHAT?!

:jawdrop: I've heard of this somewhere and I really think that it is rediculous these females are getting mad at the rappers.Who forced those women to get in that Tip Drill video? No one they want to make money and they want to show off their body like that let them, but don't blame the rappers for seeing something easy and making money off of it.This made me very mad at the women who got mad about the videos because it's not the rappers who shake their behind and breast in the camera it's the women.I mean maybe they could've come out with a more positive message in the song, but there are women out there who fit the description. My main point is....If you weren't out doing it or you dont do it no one would have a thing to say.Like females that get mad when they are called out of their names"STOP DOING THINGS TO BE CALLED THAT!!!!!!!"wooooh let me calm down:wink:

I applaud the black women at that university for taking a stand for once against music that degrades them. For too long, black women have girated to music that labeled them every degrading name under the sun. It's good to see that this new generation is prodcung more gender conscious women who demand respect. It's also important to note that a lot of brothas rallied togather to helpsistas in the boycott. It's good to see black men standing by the side of black women in large numbers attacking sexism for the first time. The only thing that concenrs me is that the rappers are not the only ones who need to be attacked. the women who allow themselves to be called whores to their faces and still find it in them to rump shake to the music should be called out as well. That's just like a white person saying the word ****** in their song lyrics and offers to pay me to dance to the music and i accept the offer.

in my opinion both the women and the men who participate in those cvideos are sell-outs that deserve no simpathy or excuses for their actions. the women are sell outs to both white supremacy and male supremacy and the men are sell-outs to white supremacy.

p.s., i think i remember reading somewhere that the women weren't even paid to be in that video.

    Well said LktPolit

I have to take serious issue with some of the members that disagree with the women have a problem with miscegenist rappers. Yes nobody put a head to these women to make them shake their rump in these videos. The same way nobody put a gun to the head of the black man or woman on crack. But do we applaud the crack dealer for supplying them with the drug? No... I don't think so. And it is for this same reason we need to hold the rapper that has no problem featuring women, just for the sake of selling sex and records.

If the artist is true to his craft why does he need to have a woman show her buttocks and breast to get your attention?

With all the sacrifices made my those who came before us, and in light of the historical fact that black women have been completely sexually exploited, black men owe it to our people not to support this pseudo-porn

    Peace

Question! Why do we always see fit to BLAME each other when the actions of some are viewed in a highly critical way?

Black men blaming Black women and vice versa! When are we going to ever learn that playing the blame game is precisely the very thing that keeps us oppressed because it takes our focus AWAY from the root of the problems in our society.

So what if Nelly wants to join many others who exploit those women who willingly participate in activities that many of us deem dehumanizing, abrasive, debilitating and downright disgusting? The only thing that will stop him from doing that in a public forum is if people stop buying his music and I don't think that's going to happen anytime soon in massive numbers.

People, including us, continue to prove that we are going to do whatever we want regardless of what some people think. Many of these people are devoting their attention to chasing the men on the face of dollar bills and could care less about responsible behavior. If you ask them how they define the "good life", I'm sure the responses you receive will sound similar--lots of money, nice houses, fancy cars, jewelry and "wild" parties. Some Black people are getting feverish over the power of the dollar and will do anything to get more. On one hand you have the Nelly's, on the other you have the Oprahs.

As for the sisters at Spelman we should be applauding and mimicing their behavior across this nation! Why do you think R. Kelly is still making money? Because some of us have this strange allegiance to people like him than we give to people like the sisters at Spelman. In my opinion, it takes far more courage to stand up for what you belive in than it does to slink around doing what will only make you more money.

We shouldn't judge more critically those that have the courage to stand up and reject the actions of a few when what they do sends a negative message about the population as a whole. Why does it seem that we often kick and stomp on those who refuse to put up with the bull dung and uplift those that are walking around dropping mounds of it all over the community?

Why are some Black people always suspicious about the motives of other Black peole who speak up and speak out? Something about this reminds me of what I read about slavery. Sometimes we're worse at being critical of each other than anyone else. Where's the trust or the support among us people? We talk a good game but when it comes time to step up and back up the talk, here we go...again.

Why can't we uplift and stop tearing down? Recognize that we're not all "perfect" Black people and some of us will do things that others will find distasteful and harmful to what we're trying to BUILD in terms of a community. The question is, are you going to let it stop YOU from doing what you feel is important to do?

Life isn't kindergarten. We're not on some play ground during recess running around pointing the finger at each other when someone gets caught doing something they shouldn't do. If I had a son, would I be pleased if he did what Nelly did? No! But if he was Nelly's age, I'd accept the fact that he was an adult and could do whatever he wanted and that it wouldn't stop me from doing what I felt was important to do with my life.

Brothers and Sisters, let's keep it together. Let's learn how to embrace each other as much if not more than we criticize each other. Let's grow together and not farther apart because, in the end, we will need each other. Do you think that Nelly and the women in his videos don't know what they're doing and how it's perceived by the African American public? Some of us are letting Nelly know that they support him whenever they buy his music and others are letting him know that they don't support him when they don't. If their goals are to make money and acquire fame, which voice do you think they're going to listen to?

Let Nelly make his choices. Let the sisters at Spelman make their choice. And may the best one win!

I love the girls in the Videos
Even though yall call them sluts or H-o-E-s
I love to see them in skimpy clothes

No one in this country made them dance on the video
    They consider themselves models
    Who are making flow

I never seen no black college protest Hollywood
Where black women are portrayed sometimes as
Scantly clad tramps who are up to no good

    And anyway
spelman should protest the school itself
I dun had a spelman chick who's sex was so good
    That I labeled it top-shelf
She was a nasty freak and she was an AKA
Always on her Knees like All day

spelman freaks come a dime a dozen
They will break off me, a female and my cuzin
I dun crept with em and slept em
So I know spelmans freaky status
And everytime I go to Atl
I call my spelman sex addicts

And the Delta that I had was a sex fiend too
She would break you off at any location at the AU
Dis girl Sex was so dang Trill
I mean no disrespect but I am painting a picture
Just to let some folks at spelman know
The chicks on they own campus is worst than the chicks in the video

    Who's to blame
Can we really place a name
    Aint it a shame

Until yall find out the culprits
I will be chilling at the AU
With a Tall Sexy spellman Dame
Who dresses just like the girls in the videos
    And she loves Manasiac because
She is the Honey on his nuts like Cherrios

So this ends my dedication to spelmans freaky status
And It is sad the lashing out at Nelly
The only reason why they doing it is out of spite and malice
spelman and it is chicks will forever suck
like an old southernbelle suck cabbage

Brother Manasiac, I don't know whether you consider this poetry you wrote or a personal testimony, but I don't think this is the place for it. The extent to which you go to prove your dislike of some women can be offensive at times and this alone is a sufficient example of that. It's not necessary for you to go to these lengths to prove why you think some people are hypocritical in nature. This type of language incites rage and malcontent and we don't need that here. If you want to "bash" an issue, please express it respectfully, and if you feel you can't do that, then do it elsewhere, please. Your presence is needed here in our community Brother Manasiac, but not to the tune that you feel you can just get butt naked 'raw' anytime you feel like it. Thank you for your cooperation!

    Peace,

I was just showing you another raw side of spelman university. I am sorry if this is a reality in which you have not lived but there are people who live it at the AU like everyday. So if incites rage and malcontent I am sorry but I am pretty sure you have seen more in your life that has incited rage and malcontent than these words from somone who is nearly 10,000 miles away from you. So if you are nearly twice my age and are feeling rage and malcontent by a 25 year old, you might need to go to anger management or something. You should be old enough to know that my experience on this planet is small and minisucle and that the small vein of reality I have live in as a 25 year old will not last forever. You should also know that a 25 year old will probably not share the same views as you since you are more wiser and have more empirical experience than I. And you have had some eccentric views when you were my age, so why can't I share the same privledge.

Your points are very well taken and the next post will be censored for your protection and safety.

    Thank you for reading,
