The black community has been historically oppressed and discriminated against. That's not to say that we don't have our own struggles. We do. But what I'm trying to get at is that the black church has always had a strong influence over the black community. And since the beginning of Christianity, the black church has been a place where people could go to find answers about their lives, their problems, and their future. It was a place where they could feel safe and accepted.
