    Back alley silhouette/
    it pinpoints the marketplace
    and its lack of sympathy//
    I gave you a dollar/
    you gave it to Sam
    on the corner, a bourbon
    shell of a man
    in seven layers of
    clothing (dressed not
    for warmth, but for
    invisibility)//
    You are a
    three layered
    version, ten years
    away//
    I was your
    soup kitchen saviour/
    I was the black girl
    in a inner city shelter
    where we shared
    cigarettes and a can
    of Mr. Pibb/
    talked about politics--
    and I didn't ask//
    Corner window office,
    culmination of
    two divorces and three
    kids you see on
    commercialized holidays
    only//
    You've got a love
    affair with a
    16-hour workday/
    a sordid passion for the
    corporate ladder
    (and the human squeal of
    it rungs)//
    Rhinestone Cowboy
    in Ralph Lauren; with
    a skyscraper billboard
    of dirty flesh and open
    air on the other side
    of the horizon//
    I was your black
    stripper queen/ peek
    show number 5/ the
    pile of sex and
    reciprocal action with a
    thousand faces,
    including your own//
    Blood and chocolate
    on your shirt/ parting
    consolation gifts from
    a mother in stage two
    of drunken decision
    making//
    The mid term
    was a violent pass
    or fail exam/ She passed,
    you failed to look
    like anything but your
    father//
    I was the red
    skirted black juvenille/
    the first girlfriend/ we
    held hands and you
saw God in the city lines//
    We kissed fingers and
    watched as Jesus gave
    us the "thumbs up"//
    I was Greek god
    counterpart waitress
    on Tuesdays confession
    priest/
    African American
    nurse ... cage of your
    first lover... shell of dying
    daughter
    Sam
    sara

    repeats.

    I was.

    *cogitating*?? :)

    LOL @ Blak

You know you too crazy! You know how we do it boo, gots to live inside Websters to find all things new!!

You are partially correct when you indicated India... Samsara is a term used in when referral to the cycle that is repeated and is believed by followers of Hinduism & Buddism, hence Birth, Suffering, Death, & Rebirth.

Much  thanks for posing the questions Verb!
