"What do you call a hip-hop album that decries social injustices without using foul language, that exposes the immorality of drug dealing, bemoans young girls who dress like pole dancers, castigates dads who've allowed themselves to be imprisoned, and suggests (in "Where Did I Go Wrong") that, among other things, studying harder for the SATs would have been a good idea?

You call that an album no major label would put out, one that sat idle for two years before finally coming out as an "indie" release, doubtless financed by its song conceptualizer, one Dr. William H. Cosby. Funny thing is, "Bill Cosby Presents The Cosnarati - State of Emergency" is sonically on the money, with the right beats and shout outs (by his much younger performing and writing collaborators) to meet a critical rap fan's approval.

Hear or buy selections at www.billcosby. com and www.amazon.com "

Good intentions, sounds good and what not,
but will the radio stations play it out of courtesy to Cosby's efforts

and will the youth in the "hood" listen, after anger over his statements about poor Blacks?

    peace

If it was suppossed to drop 2 years ago, then maybe his comments a couple of years ago were to push his album....lol

With some of the "Rap" i've heard over the past few years I'm sure he can't do or be any worse but i would have to hear it first before i could make an honest comment on it's content!

I am curious to know his MC name though.? Could it be:::::nahhhhhhhhh

we have to take control of hip hop....

i mean that we, black people of good conscience, have to take control.
we have so much talent. we have so much spirit. lets roll.
with the internet you do not need the jew to distribute your product.
do you know that the eagles did not print their latest album? they sold only on line via downloads.
no production costs. no distribution costs. the artists get all the cream. word of mouth will do it.
lawd knows black people can talk. lets make money from it. lets roll!

if i had any skills i would be out there, puddin pop, indeed.

any of those artists can use the new technologies and the new business models that are becoming available.
they already have name recognition. we have to drop the slave mentality and do for self.
if radio won't play then go over and around radio. radio is obsolete anyhow.

    stop whining. lets roll!
