none of this stuff is as solid as the white boys would have you think.

it cannot be solid state if it's expanding, but is it actually expanding?
red shift may be found to be caused by another phenomena.

negative energy, dark matter and black holes have not actually been proven.
no one has been able to observe them directly.

so no one actually knows except the religious people, who know everything.
in any case, relative to your lifespan, it's all standing still.

Which makes more sense, the big bang theory : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Bang, or the minority view held steady state theory :http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steady_state_theory.? What about any alternative views as to the origins of the universe? I have difficulty grasping that the universe is not eternal, hasn't always existed and won't always exist.

Many times the spirit knows the answer to life's mysteries before the brain. You are probably having trouble 'grasping' the concept of the universe not being eternal because deep down inside you just 'know' that it is.

But to answer your question... in my opinion God/nature probably created the world using a combination of instaneous Big Bang-like actions and steady state methods.
