(To him)
He’d be riding so low you barely saw his face
Just creepin’ along
…Thumping the bass
But who was he?
He’d roll up
Lean over…and say
“What’sup”
In his slow, southern-drawl way
Surveil the landscape
Needing to know what it takes
(To escape)
No…not that way
But…Who was he?
Five feet seven…sometimes the clown
Or…that serious brutha
Ready to get down
Or be down (for his boys)
Had all the toys
Ahhh….
Who was he, again?
“Big Balla,” they’d holla
When he stepped on the scene
Over three hundred pounds
Of bling and mean
He was a barrel of a brutha
…A gentle teddy bear
Wanting to give the impression
He really didn’t care
But his heart was huge
And his love ran deep
Little, touchy things
Could make the man weep
Nawl…he wasn’t no gangsta
But one scary sight
X jock
Sick game
Kept his fade and facial tight
He’d step from his ride
His pocket hanging low
The hotties and hoodrats
All screaming for mo’
His system still bumping
Didn’t want it to stop
“Turn it up
Turn it up
Let the neighborhood rock”
Now
(Big) Balla’s arocking
That glorious ride
Bumping and thumping
With God on his side
From the mightiest mountain
He looks down our way
Rest In Peace, Big Balla
In Jesus name, we pray
