When we bicker each day, does that spiritualy help the Black community in general or harm it?

When we build each day with creative solutions and concepts does that spiritualy help or harm the Black community?

When we come to any discussion web site what are we bringing to it?

What does it mean to bicker?

What does it mean to build?

In conversation, I think that building is taking a useful point that a person makes and expounding upon it.

Maybe we all have different ideas about the meaning or usefulness of these actions.

exactly. To build sometimes we have to break down or demolish what was in it's place before we build anew. A lot of our people aren't willing to demolish the old to start building anew so the process gets halted and maybe that's what you mean by bickering.

Clap clap Bravo. In the Dalai Lama's book The Art of Happiness, this is exactly what he said. Find what a person says or believes and build on it from there. There are way too many people here and in other realms of society who seem to wake up everyday looking for an arguement. Progress is made by agreed actions, not going on and on over petty differences.

Bicker can build. When all the bickering is done - you come away knowing who needs what, why they need it, and you understand the pro and cons from all sides.

I agree with warriorprincess on that.

Not everyone who bickers is gonna stand up to the chance of building, but those who listen and see through the mess - they might stand the chance of standing up.

I make no judgements on no one, but...

    :toast::toast::toast:

it get's to be a drag, to see the community planning, or solution oiented posts sink like a rock in the ocean, while posts that go on forever like a olympic version of the dozens, take prominence.

folks have the right to talk about or focus on what they want, but where is the consensus for the common good?

    Chuck:

There was and is no simple solution to also what were and are also issues and problems, before and since you among others even started posting on message boards, etc., and that the present so called black leaders etc. either just choose to go along/to get along, i. e., with whatever bunch of rich white inheritors dreams and schemes are at the moment, etc.; or that handful who were or are for us etc. never did or do have any real sayso about, from the getgo...

    The short version:

    "It is what it is..."

    Above and beyond that:

It really did and does take research/scholarship/etc. to delve into the roots (not just comment on what folk merely see on the surface)...

    After then:

Folk can try to come up with solutions to our issues and problems...

    In particular:

You were and are on point/on time, i. e., as regards always being cautious and wary, when it comes to how the mainstream media (mis)characterize who we are and are about, since overhyped gangsta rap is just what plagues us on the surface, whereas the declining number of jobs held by black males of any age group, which started to plague us back in the eighties, is the backdrop for the real decline in our standard of living, which also gets characterized by out of wedlock births and/or 'absentee' fathers, etc.

Or as a famous movie quote also put's it well:

"I don't fault people for what ain't their fault..."

But I do air criticisms of folk who could do something about it...

    :fyi:
