    Beyond The Veil

    Stolen...

like a thief in the night
    they came
    representing privilege
    behind fake smiles
    and condescending
    treachery
    they violated AFRICA
    seizing
    Men, Women & Children
    for slavery
    black bodies shackled
    to tapestries
    of mental denigration
    they labeled us
    "N****rs"
    "spooks"
    "coons"
    "darkies"
    belying a people
    whose majesty
    was clearly evident

    proud & spiritual
    we fought on
    century upon century
    forging our own destiny
    thru truth and justice
    despite the
    American way

    ~SAY IT LOUD~
    I'm black and I'm proud!

    ~SAY IT LOUD~
    I'm black and I'm proud!

    "Integration saved the day"

    ...Or did it?

    in spite of objectionable
    opposition
    we were

    free! free! free!

    while

    psychic chains
    bind our minds to
    systematic hypocrisy
    subliminally
    designed
    to infiltrate
    &
    divide

    the
    PoWeRs ThAt Be
    forged a veil
    of piracy, discrimination,
    oppression and injustice
    propagating
    downright dirty lies
    to
    keep
    my
    people
    blind
    to
    the
    truth
    of
    who
    they
    are
    it's only a temporary
    indoctrination
    to the inevitable
    history shows fate
    has it's place of atonement
    beyond
    the
    veil

the "veil" of hypocrisy comes in many shades...

...and everyday sees us trying to interpret the varying stages of their KINDNESS...trying to catch us in our blindness...to the things they're trying to do.

    beautifully scripted

The veil was placed to conceal, but could not totally sheild us from our brilliance, that luster...just too strong to blur. Your pen's strength has no limits poetess.

We all do $Rich$, we all share the same experiences. This is why it's so
crucial that we care enough about each other to uplift, support and come
together as one people. It's essential for our survival as a race.
