    recalling you
    weekends beyond the grade
into the crimson call of the horizon
    even the meld of gold
all the evening cold held at bay
in the waning reach of day
and you so close to me
    most naturally
    even the way it felt
    things was s'posed to be
    you and me
you the strength to my weakness
    the reason to my wild
my woman my mother my child
    my mild demeanor
    the soothing song
    love's eveing
    recalling rightness
    well before the world
    waxed wrong
