penn'd for a very special friend ---------------------------------------------------- I. she went from a solid dark mixture in my styrofoam cup, to lacin' my exhales. i need her those mornings; when my eyes become soluble moons, reduced to salt in the corner of eyelids before sunrise. II. i've watch'd you; knowin' the frame of your body when your hoodie hugs you, comfortably while your jeans take the shape of your thighs, like my eyes do. i've watch'd you too long, now. we are good friends; i've come to you with women problems---- you've seen me bare my cocoon many times, you've/ seen me without wings. i've want'd you, long before the infancy of our friendship but i'm scared for you to know these things; content with us being friends, so out of fear of losin' that i watch & want you, quietly/ watch & want so much more for us, while we carry on as friends. III. your smile sits like Niles in your cheeks; a groove wedged deep in your flesh---where balm becomes illuminatin' fireflies roamin' loose through your pigmentation. girl, i've wait'd too long to get these words out/ too long in silence--- where i've laid in ambush, waitin' on opportunity. waitin' on you, to acknowledge the obvious: that we enjoy each other's company/ everytime i'm around you, i'm tempt'd to pull you inside my personal space. let me be the vessel that consumes you; the cocoon you come to in your time of metamorphis--- come.. take shape in my embrace. know that this is real.. let's climb from behind the comfort of our friendship/ take this beyond its possibilities & go deeper than we are, right now..
