    He wants to feel betrayed
    There is a nag
    That tugs at his heart
And the back of his brain
    That tells him
    She’s been untrue
    So, he searches
    He questions
He tries to make it so

    She loved him
    Tried to hold his heart
    When so many circumstances
    Pulled them apart
    Some of which
    Was that nag he had
    That tug
    That said she had been
    Untrue

    There they were again
    Unstrung
    An unsung love story
    That always fell short
    Of reaching it’s mark
    Because of the wall
    Brick by brick
    That was built
    From heartache

    She reached out
    But he searched
    She touched him
    And he backed away
    She begged him to listen
    And he closed his ears
    He would find it
    He was bound and determined
    She was his prey

She waits for his next escapade
    His next accusation
    She braces for the impact
But doesn’t know from which way
    His charge will come
    She sits down
    And imagines forests and meadows
    And imagines trickling brooks
    And images flow

    She organizes them into words
    To look pretty on paper
    It takes her mind from
    The stark reality
    That he still searches
    For her infidelity
    She writes and waits
    She loves him
She'd give anything for him to love her…

    Heartwrenching and pouring with tears...
these stanzas cry out for peace
    and the completion of love
it's hard when the one you love
is unable to let go and trust
    it makes you wonder...
    is love without trust...really love?

this truly tugged at the heartstrings...

    Beautifully written my sister!

Someone just looking for an excuse for their heartless behavior, I guess it's easier to point the finger of blame elsewhere. I know what you're saying here, and you posed it so well. Flow on.

Very nice poem Cindy. Kind of sad, but truthful none the less. Very cool and nicely written.
