I agree with. Must be opposite day.

    http://www.cnn.com/2017/05/24/politics/ben-carson-poverty-state-of-mind/index.html

"I think poverty to a large extent is also a state of mind," the retired neurosurgeon said during an interview with SiriusXM Radio released on Wednesday evening. "You take somebody that has the right mindset, you can take everything from them and put them on the street, and I guarantee in a little while they'll be right back up there. And you take somebody with the wrong mindset, you could give them everything in the world, they'll work their way right back down to the bottom."

I grew up with 4 other guys in the hood. 1 got shot and passed before we graduated high school just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Another couldnt make the transition from hustlin in the streets to something constructive. Still lives in the hood and hooked on some drug probably crack. Another went to the military with me and stayed in. Doing well. The only one to go straight to college from high school is doing well. The thing is that all of us could have guessed from each specific mindset what each one of us was going to do. The one that is hooked on crack showed all the signs. He had that mentality that the white man was going to keep him down. I was like..." the hell he is. Aint nobody keepin me down".

I think youre trying to say that white people are responsible for Blacks being in whatever condition and that by me saying you have a choice to fight back and not accept your circumstances whites have placed you in I am my own worst enemy?

of course you have a choice to fight back and not accept your circumstances.

but to say that the ONLY thing holding blacks back is our own attitude is BS.
it is blaming the victim. that's what white people do.

I listened to what Ben Carson had to say last week. He said he had to create a center to bring those in the lower money range and those who think that they have no option except to continue to live in apartments a way to speak to them. He wants to teach about what buying a house entailed, why it's a good idea, and how its done. He said then the center gives help getting them on the road to buying a house of their own. He says he does this to give maximum understanding and belief to the lower income people, for a path to follow.

So evidently Carson discovered that people with the higher income don't need his help. They can go buy a house on their own. They don't require what he has to offer. It is those who are stuck in low income that need to understand real-estate, house buying and financial opportunities.

I think what Carson is going to find is that his uncle ruckus type attitude is going to turn off a lot of Black people who will not take advantage of anything he has to offer.

What then is the alternative for those who see Ben Carson as uncle ruckus, not taking Ben Carson's offer? What will they do instead?

There are several alternatives. One being self study like our family did. I bought my first home for $500 down. My wife researched this and we took advantage of a HUD property. Bought several other properties after that. There are many ways to purchase real estate. I am sure Carson is going to advocate the most expensive way.

Ben Carson will be successful at anything because of his level of dedication and determination. He inspires more Black people than people actually want to acknowledge. He makes me very proud!!!! I really think that Trump should have put him in charge of DHHS, but Ben Carson will be successful. If Trump tries to make him cut too many programs that might have a negative impact that n Black people, he most likely will resign.
