Been Around The Block

I been around the block a few times or more,
Seen a lot of things, pain and hurt and some
Loneliness too.

Been kicked and knocked down “what’s a girl to do”?
But each time I arise, to stand tall with pride dust my self
Off and wipe the tears from my eyes.

I been around the block and up your street too, might
have been seen by some or trying to hide from a few.
“Yeah I’ve done some things”, I anin't proud to admit, but I
thank God they did not allow me to quit.

I been around a few corners and some alleys to, no matter
how hard it seemed to get I kept dreaming the dream of
where I had to get.

And even though the roads and paths were crocked and few times
straight, I held on tight to my little bit of faith.

“Yeah I’ve been around the block”!
Haven’t you?
