Beautiful Black Queens
Beautiful
you are to me
Black
you are to them
Queen
you are to all

Bronze skin inspired by God
You glisten in the day
And glow at night

Big features cultured by nature
You are the picture of perfection
Painting angelic images
On our minds

Majestic mannerisms originated by strength
You provoke propositions of passion
While commanding the respect
That you’ve conscientiously earned

You are a Beautiful Black Queen
Why don’t you know it?

You know that you are Black
But their definition of beauty
Distorts what you see

Your body type is not like theirs
But(t) you try to lose that thickness
That is your measure

You except poor treatment
Because you don’t realize
That royalty should be catered to
Appreciated, cherished, and loved

You hold the key to the evolution
Of our cultural revolution

As mothers
As grandmothers
As lovers
As discoverers

Of the strong black man
Born of you
Clinging to you
Nurtured by you
Backed by you
Encouraging to you
When we make you proud

We are nothing without you
So we need you to know that

Beautiful
you are to us
Black
You are to them
Queen
You are to all

With self-esteem
You will
never let us
Fall
Beautiful Black Queens
