In 2007, Barrington Irving became the youngest African-American man to fly around the world. He was 23 years old and only had $30 dollars in his pocket when he flew out of Miami, Florida. However, that didn’t stop him. Irving had big dreams and a plan he had put them in motion. Irving was born in Kingston, Jamaica and moved to an inner-city in Miami, Florida at the age of 6. As a young boy, he had never gave too much thought to being a pilot. That was, not until he met United Airlines pilot, Capt. Gary Robinson.
