Black Poetry : Bad *** Kidz Don't Belong in Jail

[Street So'ja]

Yea we got some bad *** kids
but I don't care what they did
because they're still a kid
kids duplicate what they learn
and if you teach them fire you about to get burned

the knucklehead kid in Florida charged with murder
he don't need jail time he needs to be nutured
case and point can't vote until age 18
can't drink beer until age 21
so you gonna send a 12 yr old kid to jail like the kid's life is done

yea I know some of these kid are bad
some don't have a mother or a dad
you're not adult enough to vote until 18
but you're adult enough to serve time at 13
in a maximum correctional facility
with "grown" people how silly
see my point is as a kid how do you serve time
and you can't enjoy "Miller Time"
you know why - cause it's still a child's MIND

jail time ain't the answer
teach some of these kids some manners
and whup they *** just like Nanna
used to when I was a little kid
taught me right from wrong so I knew how to act when I got big

we visualize violence (movies, video games) as entertainment
then you act surprised when they imitate it
America, check your sons and daughters
kids are like little tape recorders
they need 24hrs a day, lifetime supporters
not to hide them under the rug south of the border

but I figure this country cares only about money
not about the broken homes
but the NASDAQ and the DOW JONES
man I had to tell you how it is
this country says they for the kids but they not for the kids
you know how I know

cause we're building more jails
instead of some sort of positive universal structure
teaching kids positive is the way to go
in cities across America it will be hot this summer
so pham pray for our youngsters

I agree bad *** kids need a good *** whuppin' just like when momma beat me cause....oh my fault bruh you got me thinking back. Anyway I agree. But you know as I know this "CON"try don't care about kids the examples are many. Tight work. Keep telling the truth.

there were many dayz i was told dat i shouldn't SPANK my kidz. "there be a betta way," dey said. but their kidz were out in da streets...outta control...doing everything dey wanted. i continued to SPANK my kidz for their wrongs. today...dey thank me for raising dem so.

gotta do whatcha gotta.
