    Peace and Blessings Family,

President Obama will be presenting an education speech : My Education, My Future, at noon on Tuesday, September 8th 2009. You can get all the information on the major speech coming up from the President welcoming America's students back to school. He'll urge them to take responsibility for their educations, set goals, and succeed.

Now, before the speech has even been aired, many teachers, school officials, and parents are saying they will not show it to their students. Of course they all have justifiable reasons in their own minds, to take this course of action, but I don't believe I've heard of any such thing ever in my life.

The office of president is being disrespected by parents and school administrators, sending (i believe) an unprecedented message to American students.

I hate to think the primary reason (in spite of the ones they are giving) is because he is a Black Man. When I was a child in school, we were taught to embrace and support all that the President did, to trust that what he did was best even if we couldn't see or understand it at that moment. Even slavery, when skimmed over, was presented as necessary and justified. I never heard of the President (or his message) being shunned by teachers or school officials. Not ever. In fact, if one did disagree with the President, it was considered unpatriotic ... like the Iraq War ... we were all encouraged to support the decision, the lives called and lost, for the sake of the country and unity. Many sending their own children to fight and die, in spite of their personal opposition to the national course of action. No matter how we felt about it politically, it was the message of unity and support as a nation, that was suppose to supersede all other concerns.

Now, we have a President encouraging education, not war, and he's being shunned and attacked by the schools?

    What's really going on Family?

Why I Don't Want the Obama Speech Shown in Other Schools

Cameron Schools will not broadcast speech live

Quincy schools won't show Obama education speech

    Norwalk schools bar education speech

President Obama's Address to America's Students: Right Idea, Wrong Message

Parents concerned by Obama's pep talk

Area schools to ban president’s speech

Can you all help me understand what is really going on?

    Thanks in advance.

There is not a single person on this entire planet, that would ever think that the United States is not a rascist nation.

My assumption is that White folks were ready to put thier hate on ice, only and only if the new president would fullfill his promise of change, and apease thier hatred (progressive Whites, and Ron Paul supporters) of Bush

by not serving the Bush people"The Haves and the Have Mores"
but serve the 95% of Americans who were dawged by the Bush administration and his looting of the government.

When they saw trillions go to corporate criminals as bail outs, without much of those funds presently acounted for,
and then turn around and give the illegal foreignly owned secretive, Federal Reserve more power,
many got ticked off, as they lost jobs, lost homes, and saw their life savings bandied about from closed banks to who knows were.

    This is how politics works

Bush senior was a let down, murdering folks of color all over the world for corporate interest.
Clinton was a let down, with GATT NAFTA, the destruction of Glass Steagall,
and cutting welfare without providing job training, as a safety net.
and W ;.....well it would take a 4 page blog for his blunders.

and then here comes Obama with the hope and promise of change and we saw White folks put thier racism on the shelf for just a minute(not forever)
in the hope he would make that change.

There is a healing period in any relationship
When a woman has been hurt by former husbands, and now she feels she has met the man of her dreams, and tells her all the things her heart desires,
but just after the wedding she sees him sneaking white women out the back door,
then how is she to feel about him, giving Sunday morning speeches about the responsibilities of a good husband.?

Many are aware of Arne Duncan and his past record in Chicago, and the Junior ROTC that had gone after the Black youth there.
Black folks there wonder why put a man like that in Washington?
And how the pentagon has entered the school system, in a way it has not done, not even during world war 2, were young brothers were lying at 17 about thier age to enlist, just to get a chance to destroy and kill those that wanted to wipe out Africa,
so Black folks are wondering why now , here it is almost Autumn and this militiraization of children is still going on when it could have been stopped, at the same time the billion dollar bail outs occured, quickly and without haveing to "wait and see"
So I would not be surprised if there are some Black parents who don't care to hear the speech either and are starting to see him as another Reverand Deac O'Malley

I was never taught any alegiance to a president in elementary school, in fact when we were kids we cheered, when Johnson said he would not run again, and we mocked and hated that dude while he ws in office, and felt he was in reality a bigot and I used to have to sit in the deans office in JHS, becuase of refusing to say or even stand for the pledge of allegiance.

The underground "IN THING" in my projects back in the 60s, among kids and teenagers,
was passing around "JA Rogers 100 Amazing Things about the Negro" and Muhammed Speaks, also listening to the Last Poets and Leroi Jones albums

I hate to laugh at the brotha. But this is hilarious. Don't get me wrong, I like Obama. And I think he knows a bit of the game. But he doesn't know all of it. A lot of this stuff will continue to blow up in his face. He should have expected this and this is payment for not getting a full understanding of just how "White" supremacy works.

    This is some bull feces!

Some news sources are calling it "unprecedented," and that is not true.

For those of us "vintage" enough to remember :) ....Back in tha day, many Blacks used to play a card game by the same name....And I repeat. All this hoopla and opposition is not chicken or horse or sheep but pure, unadulterated, grade-A BULL FECES!

In the Spirit of Sankofa and Truth!

    Sister Destee,

You have asked the following question: Can you all help me understand what is really going on?

This notion of challenging President Barack Obama's speech on education or his administrations involvement within the educational system is the epitome of buyers’ remorse and total disrespect to the Office of President of the United States of America. White racialists and blacks suffering from self-hate, as the shoe fits, are actually opposed to the Black man that now holds the highest position in the land, President of America.

    Candidate said it best below:

" This is the stupidest and most un-American controversy I've probably ever seen in my life. Whether you voted for Obama or not, he is the President of the United States. I may not agree with many of his policies, but he will always have my respect and allegiance, like every other President before and after him. In fact, I find it amazing that anyone American wouldn’t want the President of the United States to talk to their children and encourage them to make their education a priority. Let’s not let the overzealous partisans tear this country apart.

the basic principal of American democracy, even under white supremacy is to never trust any politician until they have made a deal or promise to your interest or group,
    plain and simple.

Those who make promises and break them within 4 months of office are simply not trusted t say anything of value, regardless of color.

The question remains would we even be having this conversation if he was White?

Is this about color or policy?

Thirty years of Neocolonialism in the Motherland has proven that they can fool us with color,
but history has also shown, that they fear policy,
and policies of justice, out of a desperate need to adopt policies that feed the Military Industrial Complex
