Black Poetry : Back From New Orleans

Hi Miss Lady
The trip to New Orleans
open your heart to the reality
that all our people wanted
was indeed for someone to love and care
about the horrific event that stripped away
their things, and damage their spirit. Yet still
they stand strong through it all. You hit on some
thought provoking points. It only take a moment
to see and feel the realness of it all
Great flow sis

Peace~N~Love

On a plight around the US of A
so many things are different for me today

Katrina will never forget New Orleans
For she came and she demeaned

Will we ever know what love really means?

One against other
We take from our brother
All lust from a lover
the terror from a dome of plunder

The art of theives
Who feel no remorse
only hidden intents of greed

rebuild it for the black folk

Hell, is that what you beleive?

For love is a stolen smile
From another .... who thought they had no more

For love is a given meal
For someone hungry... asking what am I living for

For love is having everything stripped away
And still a heart to give ......

The lesson learned from this life....
Is that love is from within....

It's not a worldly treasure
nor a superficial thing

It's not a million dollars
nor a four k diamond ring

It is a path
you choose to follow

the paths of queens and kings
Who thru it all.... joy and pain

can still lift their voice and sing.
