The light of the sun wakes me from deep sleep
Moving each muscle I gather new strength
For I know each day troubles can be deep

I cannot speak to you in loving length
Your sleep calms me, this peace I will not wake
Sleep my love, Your heart is in need of rest

If you dream of me, dream on, I'll watch you
In you I see the purpose of my day
I smile, I am happy, I am in love

So near am I to kindness, truth, and joy
So near a strength that can carry us both
A man I am, but in need like a boy

I'll rise and I'll move from our dwelling nest
Thanking God that in you I have the best
